Well, here it is. The last day of 2014. Can't say I've been too busy drawing this year (and you KNOW I don't blog!!!), but that all changes tomorrow!
Welcome to Sketchy New Year, 2015!
Now, I know what you're thinking. No, this isn't the year I become a world renowned cat burglar (although that does sound fun). Instead, 2015 is the year I spend drawing each day. That's right! 365 days of sketches! And, for your viewing pleasure, I'll be posting them each day! At least I'll try to post them each day.
I make no guarantee on the quality each day, but at least I'll be putting something out there. So I encourage you to comment, share, critique, share, "like", make suggestions, share with your friends, and just have fun with it. I know I'm going to!
Now, go have some fun and check back tomorrow for the first sketch of 2015! ‪#‎sketchaday2015‬ ‪#‎toastyart‬
Cheers and toast!

How About Some Background?

While I'm busy creating new works of nonsense, I thought I would share a couple of my older pieces and odd tidbits about me.
I am a teacher by day.  When students are busily working away, I will often reward them for their hard work with a fast sketch of some kind.  Oddly enough, they actually think that's a reward!  So, a lot of stuff I continue to work on later starts off as a simple doodle for my class.  Much like Toast, which I posted last time.  He was a sketch I did last year and the students loved it.  I also create signs for my classroom.  Here is a painted sign that hangs outside my door to this day...

And So It Begins...

I have no idea why I'm doing this.  The easiest explanation is... it's time.
Time for me to do something that is way out of my comfort zone.
Time for me to move out of my own private artistic fun-land and into the big scary world where people see your creations.
And let me tell you, it's not easy!
So like most of my bright ideas and grand plans, I'm going to jump in feet first and just start.  Last weekend I decided to try my hand at digital painting.  I created the following from a sketch I did last year...
Yes, he's toast....
So, there you have it.  The first piece of artwork in my first blog entry.

Yep, it's time.  Let's see what happens...
